An
old Umbrian tradition
The story of our oil mill goes back to a long family
tradition that, from generation to generation, has left the old
manufactoring methods over the time almost untouched.
In our little town Grutti, that has grown up by the
hard work of the farmers, the grinding of the olives is until today
still considered as the most important event of the year. Whoever
had the opportunity to assist with it, will surely remain impressed
by this ritual, that often ends late in the night in front of the
fireplace.
The patient wait, while chatting with friends and
having the one or other glass of wine ends, when as if by magic
the first drops of oil begin to flow and fill the room with an unforgettable
fragrance.
There's nothing left than to roast the bread and taste
the first exquisite oil of the season with its intensive and slightly
bitter taste.
Unforgettable moments that give us every year new
motivation to continue our work, jealous guardians of a tradition
made of love and emotion for the nature.
The same love that you will find again in our oil.
